Laser therapy
Reduces pain, inflammation and accelerates the healing process
How does it work?
The laser beam penetrates tissue without destroying it, the laser light comes through a non-invasive handpiece that is applied to the area in question.
The laser sends photons, packets of light energy, deep into the tissue without damaging it. The photons are absorbed into the mitochondria inside the cells and induce a chemical change called "photo-bio-modulation". This light energy stimulates the production of ATP in the cell. ATP is the energy cells need to repair and rejuvenate themselves. Weakened or damaged cells do not make this energy at an optimal rate. Increased ATP production leads to healthier cells and tissues.
The animal will feel a pleasant and soothing warmth during the treatment, which in most cases only takes a few minutes each time. There are no known side effects when using laser therapy. You can read more about laser therapy here.
